Feature Requests

It would be super useful to have support for variables, similar to what Figma offers. Being able to attach specified values to things like padding, gap, or basically anywhere that allows a numerical input would enable a lot of systematic structure that's currently not natively possible. It could work similarly to how text style sizing works, where its possible to define a size based on the breakpoint. Variables could allow for a layer of abstraction in defining consistent system-wide values, such as "padding-large" being set to 128px on desktop and 64px on mobile, for example. This would make updating values across all pages much easier.

Add media library functionality specifically for docs/pdfs.

Being able to upload files, directly from Framer's form builder.

I was working on a client's site today, and went past the 10 CMS limit. Framer then tells me that I cannot even publish the site to preview it, now that I have gone past it. My only options are to either: Ask the client to front $1200 for an entire year (because there is no monthly option for that plan), before the website is even ready and tested. Which I am not going to do, regardless of whether they'd pay it. Find a way to cut back to just 10 CMS collections (which I will have to). I am genuinely starting to feel serious regret about choosing Framer as a platform and major doubt around what I've signed this client up for. If you cannot see the problem with this, then you must be totally out of touch with reality. I feel like I have been taken hostage. Myself and many other professionals have no issue with paying for a good tool that helps us provide value to our clients, but it is becoming incredibly difficult to find any confidence in recommending it as a solution when you have other platforms out there offering far more for way less. I want to use Framer. There is a lot I like about it. But I am concerned about the longevity of a platform with a business model that makes little to no sense, and being at the mercy of poor decision making and pricing plans that could change on a whim for the worse.

When a collaborator makes edits via the on-page editor, site owners receive an email notification but have no way to see what was actually changed. There's no change log UI and the email contains no detail about the edit itself. The request is to add a change history/diff view for on-page editor edits. Ideally accessible both from the email notification (e.g. a "View changes" link) and from within the Framer dashboard. The diff should show what content was changed, where (which page/section), and by whom.

Add an option to use whether a vector is set as a CMS condition, filter, or variable. Currently, this creates a lot of redundant manual toggles whose only purpose is to check whether an icon or vector has been added to a CMS item.

An ability to hide (or change component variant) when a CMS Dynamic Filter option have no results. That is useful when a dynamic filtering have a lot of options so the options list can be clearer for the user.

It would be great to have the option to exclude specific IP addresses from Framer Analytics. This would prevent internal visits (team, clients, testers) from skewing traffic data and make reports much more accurate.

When a CMS detail page contains a filtered collection list, filter states persist when navigating to another detail page even though query parameters aren’t carried over. The only way to reset them is a manual page refresh. Request: Filters on collection lists should automatically reset to their default state when navigating between CMS detail pages, matching the behavior of a fresh page load.
